A hands-on whole group check-in activity that turns daily emotion identification into a simple, visual routine — grounded in The Incredible 5-Point Scale.
Each learner drops a laminated photo token into the colored can that matches how they’re feeling. Five color-coded cans (green, blue, yellow, orange, red) correspond to the 5-Point Scale emotions. Once tokens are in, you can respond with empathy in the moment and use the results to quickly spot who needs extra support before structured tasks begin.
What You’ll Learn
- How to build and assemble the emotion cans using common materials
- How to run the check-in as a daily morning or session-opening routine
- How to validate learners’ emotions and respond with empathy in real time
- How to use the token results to prioritize support and plan small group activities
Who Is This For
BCBAs and educators supporting groups of learners who benefit from structured emotional check-ins and a visual, low-pressure way to identify how they’re feeling each day.
