Self-Advocacy Collection

The Self-Advocacy Collection is a printable bundle of visual supports that give learners clear, concrete language and strategies to express their needs, preferences, and boundaries.

Created in collaboration with two BCBAs, the collection covers self-advocacy across sensory situations, activities, and daily interactions — and includes both ready-to-use visuals and a blank interactive version for collaborative customization.

What's Inside

  • Self-Advocacy Visual Cards — four cut-and-laminate cards for in-the-moment support (feeling stuck, not liking something, sensory overwhelm, needing a break)
  • Self-Advocacy Phrases Poster — a classroom/therapy space display featuring common phrases like "I need space," "I'm not ready yet," and "I want to do it myself" — available in four color options
  • Self-Advocacy Phrases: Blank — an interactive version for adults and learners to collaboratively fill in personalized phrases for their specific situations

Who Is This For

BCBAs, educators, and support staff teaching learners to communicate their needs across academic, social, sensory, and community contexts.
